Section 17
Eligibility of Independent Director
When appointing an independent director, a bank or a financial institution shall appoint one of the following qualifications and experience:- (a) In the case of 'A' category banks or 'B' category national level development banks, they shall have a master's degree in a subject prescribed by the National Bank as prescribed by the National Bank. A person with experience, (b) A person with experience as prescribed by the National Bank after graduating from a subject prescribed by the National Bank in the case of other development banks of the 'B' category and 'C' category financial institutions, except for the 'B' category national level development bank, (c) 'D' In the case of microfinance financial institutions of the category, a person with qualifications and experience as prescribed by the National Bank.
